The Cunningham Dax Centre Excursion

Unit 1 Psychology and Unit 1 Health students visited the Cunningham Dax Centre and experienced an engaging education program that explored the life stories of artists who have represented their lived experience of mental illness or trauma through art. The girls gained a multifaceted perspective of mental illness encompassing the artistic, scientific and psychological. They also had the opportunity to discuss issues related to mental health and art in a safe environment. Highlights included an interactive session about how to look after their own mental health, a presentation by a mental health advocate and a tour of the exhibition on show.
